Demi Lovato May Have To Pick Music Or 'X Factor'

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1702133/demi-lovato-music-x-factor-decision.jhtml

Quote:
While "X Factor" judges L.A. Reid and Britney Spears have already confirmed they will not be returning, judging from what she told MTV News, Demi Lovato still seems to be mulling her decision over.

"It's hard 'cause at the end of the day, I'm a musician. So, I could take the opportunity to tour, and, you know, I have to be a business woman and I have to like balance it out on both aspects," she told MTV News last week. "But, at the same time I had some much fun. And I would love to go back."

"It's just a matter of making things work," she added. "And, you never know, I may do both; I may just pick one or the other." Her uncertainty is there even as auditions press on for season three. The show will be holding a round of auditions as soon as March 6 in the L.A. area.

If she should join Simon Cowell on the show, she already knows who she wants to have by her side on the mentoring panel. "I would love to see Lady Gaga," Lovato said of the singer. "I don't know if that's possible or not." (As it turns out, it could very well happen as Gaga just canceled her Born This Way Ball tour after being injured.)

While Lovato's "X Factor" future is unclear, there's one thing we do know: Her new single "Heart Attack" is coming March 4, and she's planning on getting real.

"And the title is just about falling in love and taking that risk," she told us. "But, she's terrified and, by 'she,' I mean me. But, I think everyone comes to a point where they feel very vulnerable in falling in love and that's what I'm talking about."

Lindsay Lohan Gets Her Ass Kicked in Legal Fight w/ Pitbull

http://www.tmz.com/2013/02/21/lindsay-lohan-pitbull-lawsuit-loses-give-me-everything/

Quote:
Pitbull didn't just win his legal war with Lindsay Lohan ... he ANNIHILATED HER ... TMZ has learned.

We broke the story ... Lohan sued the rapper in 2011 for using her name in his hit song "Give Me Everything" ... when he dropped the line, "I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan."

Lohan claimed Pitbull never got permission to use her name ... and therefore he had no right to profit off of it.

But today a New York federal judge sided with Pitbull ... ruling that Lindsay is dead wrong on the law -- because the song is a work of art protected by the 1st amendment PLUS Lindsay's barely even mentioned in it.

The judge also ruled ... Lindsay's allegations that she suffered emotional distress are also BS.

The case has been dismissed.

Adele in the Begining of her new album

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/adele-ive-been-singing-nursery-rhymes-20130210

Quote:
New mother Adele answered a few questions backstage at the Grammy Awards.

You’re very private about the baby, but can you talk about balancing being a wonderful artist with being a mother now?
I’ve been up since 6 a.m., so I’m quite tired. It’s nice, I haven’t been as stressed out. You have to prioritize what you get stressed about when you have a child. I’ve been getting my mind around it. Normally I love getting my hair and make-up done, but this time I was like, 'Get off, get off!'

Can you say anything about the next album?
I’m not very far along at all. I’m having lots of meetings. I’ve been in L.A. the whole time since the Globes and I’ll be here till the Oscars. So I’m having lots of meetings, but I’ve been out of the loop, really. I’ve just been singing my baby nursery rhymes, so I don’t really know what’s cool and what’s not. I’m definitely going to visit with Paul Epworth and talk about doing that again.

How do you feel about performing at the Oscars?
I’ll be shitting myself!

Sounds exciting.   Sorry for not posting a whole lot but news has been super slow.

Kylie Minogue Joins Jay-Z's Roc Nation, Will Release Single

Kylie Minogue has joined Jay Z's Roc Nation family, the label and entertainment company announced Wednesday. The Aussie singer's U.S. publicist confirms to Billboard that the partnership is for management services, while she is still signed to Parlophone as a recording artist.

"We would like to welcome Aussie singer, recording artist, songwriter, actress and designer Kylie Minogue to the Roc Nation family!" the statement reads. "In a career now spanning 25 years, Kylie has released 11 studio albums, two live CDs, eight live concert DVDs, a greatest hits double album, and multiple video packages. She has released over 50 hit singles worldwide, including the Grammy-winning Come Into My World, and has sold more than 68 million albums worldwide. Needless to say, we’re excited to have Kylie join the Roc fam."

Minogue has already been added to the "Management" section of Roc Nation's site. She joins artists ranging from Rihanna, Solange, M.I.A, Shakira and Timbaland, another recent addition, on their roster.

Meanwhile, an industry source tells Billboard Minogue will release a new single "soon." She's been at work on a new studio album since at least the spring of 2012, as previously reported.

The forthcoming studio album will follow 2010's "Aphrodite," which debuted and peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 chart and reached No. 1 in the U.K. It generated four No. 1 singles on Billboard's Dance/Club Play Songs chart: "All the Lovers," "Get Outta My Way," "Better Than Today" and "Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love)."

She supported the "Aphrodite" album by touring the world with the Aphrodite Les Folies/Aphrodite Live tour in 2011. The 77-show trek visited more than 20 countries. Of the tour's 41 concerts reported to Billboard Boxscore, Minogue grossed $32.5 million and finished 2011 with the No. 21 highest-grossing tour of the year.

The pop star's first single, "The Locomotion," was released in her native homeland of Australia in 1987. In her over quarter-century career, she has issued 11 studio albums and more than 50 singles.

She had been managed by Terry Blamey since her debut, and amicably parted ways with Blamey in January.

Rihanna Covers Rolling Stone, Talks Chris Brown, Katy Perry

Quote:
Rihanna sizzles on the sultry cover of Rolling Stone’s latest issue. A long-haired RiRi poses for a close-up, shot by famed photographer Terry Richardson. This marks her second time gracing the cover of the music magazine (Her first was in 2011).

RS interviewed the “Diamonds” singer at her $12 million Pacific Palisades mansion for their cover story entitled “Crazy in Love,” where she opens up like never before about her reconciliation with Chris Brown.

“I decided it was more important for me to be happy,” the 24-year-old singer tells the magazine. “I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”

While they’ve had a tumultuous past, their relationship has changed for the better. “You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it’s different now,” she explains. “We don’t have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about shit. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don’t want to lose that.”

But if Brown was to repeat his mistakes, she won’t tolerate it. “He doesn’t have the luxury of fucking up again,” says RiRi. “That’s just not an option. I can’t say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I’m pretty solid in the knowing that he’s disgusted by that. And I wouldn’t have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility.”

Read the full interview when the issue hits newsstands on Friday, January 31.

Quote:
RIhanna has gotten a lot of heat for reuniting with her ex, Chris Brown. But the singer says she doesn't care what anyone thinks. In the Feb. 14, 2013, issue of Rolling Stone (out Friday), Rihanna opens up about Chris Brown, her plane tour and John Mayer dating Katy Perry.

On even her best friend not being allowed to talk to her about Chris Brown: "I just felt like, why bother? Nobody else is going through it. Nobody would understand."

On being mad at Chris Brown for a really long time: "I wanted him to know what it felt like to lose me. To feel the consequences of that. So when that (stuff) came back it hit me like a ton of bricks. Like, God, you've got to be kidding right now. But I got real with myself, and I just couldn't bury the way I felt."

On knowing she would be opening herself up to criticism for reuniting with Chris Brown: "But I decided it was more important for me to be happy, and I wasn't going to let anybody's opinion get in the way of that. Even if it's a mistake, it's my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I'd rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it."

On people being upset about her reunion with Chris Brown: "When you add up the pieces from the outside, it's not the cutest puzzle in the world. You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it's different now. We don't have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about (stuff). We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don't want to lose that."

On the opinion that Chris Brown still hasn't changed, based on his behavior: "I know it comes off like that. And it doesn't help. For a long time he was really angry, and he felt like he couldn't get away from it, no matter what he did. But there's so many reasons why I ever reconsidered having him in my life. He's not the monster everybody thinks. He's a good person. He has a fantastic heart. He's giving and loving. And he's fun to be around. That's what I love about him – he always makes me laugh. All I want to do is laugh, really – and I do that with him."

On believing that Chris Brown has changed: "Of course everybody has their opinion about him, because of what he's done. That will always be there. But he made a mistake, and he's paid his dues. He's paid so much. And I know that's not a place he would ever want to go back to. And sometimes people need support and encouragement, instead of ridicule and criticism and bashing."

On being the one to support Chris Brown: "Wait. You think I'm here to rehabilitate Chris? No, no, no. That is not my purpose. Trust me. I could have done that from the jump if I thought that was my job. My job was to take care of myself – and I did. I wouldn't be here if I didn't think Chris was ready."

On people being worried about her with Chris Brown: "I know. And trust me – it makes me feel great to know that people care. I guess it's just something that will show with time. There's nothing I could say that would convince you right now. But we're in a great place. And I can't ever see us going back."

On how much she will put up with from Chris Brown going forward: "Listen, I'll tell you right now: I don't have to take it. If he gives me that again, here's what I give him: nothing. I just walk away. He doesn't have that luxury of (expletive) up again. That's just not an option. I can't say that nothing else will go wrong. But I'm pretty solid in knowing that he's disgusted by that. And I wouldn't have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility."

On not mistaking her love for weakness: "I could never identify with that word, 'weak.' I couldn't have come out of this if I was weak. No way."

On making her latest album, Unapologetic: "We didn't even plan to put out an album last year. But after about six months, I got an itch to go back to the studio. Making music is like shopping for me. Every song is like a new pair of shoes. I love these I have, these look great – but what's new?"

On the plane tour to promote Unapologetic: "Oh, I had a great time. The fun never stopped for me. I enjoyed every minute of it. And it definitely brought a lot of awareness to the album – which was the whole point."

On calling her album Unapologetic as an answer to everyone who thinks she should be a better role model: "I could never tell a 10-year-old to look at me, because I know I'm not perfect. That's not what I signed up for."

On reports that she'd fallen out with Katy Perry over Perry's decision to date John Mayer: "Katy Perry can date anyone she wants. Besides, who the (expletive) am I to say anything? I could never give relationship advice to anybody!"

On if she wants to have babies someday: "Hell, yeah. But I wish I could order them."

Beyonce Talks Lip sync Controversy, Destiny's Child, Tour

Beyonce was on a mission today to PROVE she can sing the national anthem like a pro – belting out a LIVE version of the “Star-Spangled Banner” moments ago on TV … without the help of a backing track ... and she KILLED IT.

Beyonce was at the news conference for her upcoming Super Bowl halftime show when she launched into the impromptu performance -- and when she finished the song, she simply said, “Any questions?”

During the conference, Bey was asked about the lip-syncing situation at the Presidential Inauguration last week, and she admitted she used a backing track -- claiming, "I am a perfectionist ... I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra [at the Inauguration]. It was a live television show and a very important moment for me."

Beyonce added, "Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound check, I did not feel comfortable taking the risk … so I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track, which is very common in the music industry. And I’m very proud of my performance."

When asked about a possible Destiny’s Child reunion at this Sunday's halftime show – Beyonce hedged on the answer.

So let this settle it once and for all ... girl can sing.

Quote:
In a little over 72 hours, Beyoncé will headline the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show. Before she takes the field at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, the 31-year-old singer went in front of reporters at a press conference on Thursday.

First, she put the lip-syncing controversy to rest once and for all by singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” live, receiving roaring applause from reporters.

Once that was out of the way, she discussed her performance of the National Anthem at President Obama’s inauguration, plans for Sunday’s show, rumors that Destiny’s Child will join her onstage, and hinted about a tour.

On the lip-syncing controversy: “I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track… I’m very proud of my performance.”

On a potential Destiny’s Child reunion at the Super Bowl: “I can’t really give you any details.”

On whether she will perform at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards: “I don’t know if I’m performing at the Grammys…”

On when she will tour: “I would say soon and I may have an announcement after the performance.”

Quote:
Three days before her much-anticipated performance during Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, Beyonce announced that she will be singing live at the halftime show during a press conference held on Thursday afternoon (Jan. 31).

Wearing a short, backless white dress at the event, Beyonce took the stage and immediately asked those in attendance to stand, as she began singing an a cappella version of the Star-Spangled Banner. Last week, Beyonce performed (and infamously lip-synched) the song at the inauguration of President Barack Obama in Washington, D.C.; on Thursday, in her first media appearance since the Jan. 21 ceremony, Beyonce delivered a soaring rendition of the nation's anthem, and ended with the cheeky question, "Any questions?"

Minutes later, Beyonce was asked whether or not she was planning to sing live at the Super Bowl, and declared, "I will absolutely be singing live. I am well-rehearsed. I will absolutely be singing live, and this is what I was born to do."

When asked about the lip-sync controversy during the inauguration, Beyonce explained, "I am a perfectionist, and one thing about me, I practice until my feet bleed. And I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra… Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound-check, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk."

The superstar called the act of using a backing track "very common within the music industry," and said that she was "very proud of my performance" at the inauguration. She later added that rehearsals for the Super Bowl had made the inauguration performance overly taxing.

Aside from revealing her plans to sing live, Beyonce kept information about the upcoming performance sparse. Destiny's Child is assumed to be reuniting during the halftime extravaganza -- earlier this month, the trio released a new single, "Nuclear," ahead of their new compilation album, "Love Songs." However, when Beyonce was asked about a DC reunion at the Superdome in New Orleans, the singer smiled and said, "I can't really give you any details. I'm sorry."

Beyonce did hint at an important announcement immediately following the halftime show, which will be presented by Pepsi. The singer was asked when she will return to the road for a proper tour, answering, "I would say 'soon.' And I may have an announcement after the performance, and the fans should just stay tuned to see." Could this be the announcement of a new album to follow 2011's "4"? After all, Beyonce has confirmed that she is working on a new LP with collaborators like The-Dream, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and Pharrell Williams.

Beyonce also expressed excitement over the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show at the age of 31, and described the difficult process of "trying to condense a career into 12 minutes." When asked what she plans to do when the arduous Super Bowl experience is finally over, Beyonce replied, "I'm gonna enjoy my daughter."

During the press conference, Jennifer Hudson was also confirmed to be performing "America The Beautiful" before the match-up between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens. The Oscar-winning performer will be joined by the Sandy Hook Elementary Choir from Newtown, Conn.

Beyonce's performance follows Madonna's record-smashing halftime show in 2012, in which the pop superstar was joined by Nicki Minaj, M.I.A., LMFAO and Cee-Lo Green. In 2004, Beyonce performed the national anthem at the Super Bowl.

Rumor: Britney NOT doing Vegas?

So much for the rumors of a $100 million per year deal for Britney Spears to become an artist-in-residence at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Caesars Entertainment told BuzzFeed today that they are in not in talks with Spears, and she will not be coming to Caesars' Colosseum anytime soon.

Emily Wofford, public relations director for Caesars Entertainment, confirmed that there was no space in the schedule for Spears. "We are packed every weekend" for months, Wofford said.
Wofford added that Caesars "is engaged with a number of today's top artists in discussions regarding headlining residencies at our venues in Las Vegas," but that Caesars Entertainment was not currently in talks with Spears. She did say, however, that Caesars is "always interested in having artists with the caliber of Britney Spears performing at our theaters."

Reports began to surface that Spears was in serious talks to do a stint at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace shortly after she announced she would not be returning to Fox's The X Factor next season, leading to speculation that the Caesars rumor might have been a timely leak by the Spears camp designed to divert attention from that story. The Colosseum is currently hosting residencies by Celine Dion, Elton John, and Shania Twain through 2014; Rod Stewart also has a two-year contract with Caesars that will be up in August of this year.

Another venue floated as a possible site for a Spears show was Planet Hollywood's 7,000-seat PH Live theater, managed by Base Entertainment. According a knowledgeable source in Vegas, the nail was put in the coffin of that deal when hypnotist Marshall Sylver announced last week that he would kick off an open-ended residency at the theater on March 19.
Still, there might be hope left for Spears fans. "There was one definite offer for Britney in Las Vegas. A second one followed when the news broke," a second Vegas source said, adding that the prospect is still under "serious consideration," but no deal will firm up until Spears has completed recording her new album, currently under way.
