It's Official Maroon 5 And Cardi B Are #1 With Girls Like You

A pop song rules for the first time since January, ending a record 34-week streak of rap No. 1s.

Maroon 5's "Girls Like You," featuring Cardi B, ascends to No. 1, after six weeks waiting at No. 2, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated Sept. 29). Maroon 5 dethrones the 6 God, as Drake's "In My Feelings," which led the list for 10 weeks, drops to No. 2. Notably, "Girls" is the first pop song to top the Hot 100 since January, ending a record 34-week streak of rap No. 1s.
Meanwhile, two tracks enter the Hot 100's top 10: Eminem's "Killshot" soars onto the chart at No.  3, arriving as the rapper's milestone 20th top 10, and 5 Seconds of Summer's "Youngblood" lifts 11-10, becoming the band's first top 10.
Let's run down the top 10 on the newest Hot 100, which blends all-genre U.S. streaming, radio airplay and digital sales data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Sept. 25).

The 1st pop song since Havana to top the chart, that’s crazy

the hip hop power is real.

Maroon 5 & Cardi B Vying to Dethrone Drake Atop Hot 100 Next Week

Maroon 5 & Cardi B Vying to Dethrone Drake Atop Hot 100 Next Week

Maroon 5's "Girls Like You," featuring Cardi B, could claim the crown at last on next week's Billboard Hot 100 (dated Sept. 29), narrowly taking the top spot from Drake's "In My Feelings," which has led the list for the past 10 weeks.

According to building Nielsen Music data, "Girls," which has ranked at its No. 2 Hot 100 high for six straight weeks, should sport over 120 million in radio audience (in the tracking week ending Sept. 23), along with over 25 million U.S. streams and 20,000 downloads sold (in the tracking week ending Sept. 20).
"Feelings" could wrap the week with over 90 million in airplay reach, 38 million U.S. streams and 18,000 sold.

Those trending totals place "Girls" slightly ahead of "Feelings" in the race for No. 1 on the Hot 100.

Carrie Underwood Gets Her 4th #1 Debut With Cry Pretty

Cry Pretty, Carrie Underwood's sixth studio album, debuts at #1 this week with 259,697 total units. That's the largest opening for a Country album since Luke Bryan's Kill the Lights in August of 2015.

Carrie not only delivers the biggest Country release of the year so far, but she breaks a record among female Country acts: she now has more  #1 albums than any other woman in Country music. Cry Pretty is her fourth album to hit the top spot, a total met by no other woman in her genre. It follows Blown Away (2012), Play On (2009), and Carnival Ride (2007). Her other two studio albums, Some Hearts (2005) and Storyteller (2015), debuted and peaked at #2. Her greatest hits package, Greatest Hits: Decade #1 (2014) peaked at #3.

These are the other female Country artists with the most #1 albums:

Taylor Swift - 3
Faith Hill - 3
Shania Twain - 2
Reba McEntire - 2
Linda Ronstadt - 2

A well deserved debut for Carrie.

Rita Ora - Phoenix Sophomore Album out 11/23

BRAND NEW SINGLE ‘LET YOU LOVE ME’

OUT SEPTEMBER 21st

Rita Ora has announced the details of her second studio album, Phoenix out on November 23rd. The brand new single ‘Let You Love Me’ will be released on September 21st. Listen here.

Co-written by Rita herself, new single ‘Let You Love Me’ is a mid-tempo pop-anthem, revealing her insecurities in a new relationship. It is one of Rita’s most intimate tracks to date, and one that allows you to hear the strength of her vocal performance as she lets her guard down and shows her vulnerable side to love. With soft vocals against vibrant synths, the track shifts between delicate verses to a dance-driven chorus, perfectly conveying her wish to let herself be loved.

It has been a momentous year and a half for Rita - following a sold-out European tour and an incredible summer playing to millions of fans with over 33 live dates. Rita's latest five hit singles have amassed over 1.3 billion Spotify streams worldwide. Global hit, ‘Your Song,' written by Ed Sheeran and Steve Mac has reached more than 352M streams alone - it is also Rita's biggest hit in Europe and was a Top 10 smash in the UK singles chart.

Following this, she released a global Top 10 UK hit in August, ‘Lonely Together,' a collaboration with Avicii, which recently earned the pair a MTV Video Music Award for ‘Best Dance Video. Her single ‘Anywhere,'released last October, earned a #2 spot on the charts in the UK. Collaborating with Liam Payne for the Fifty Shades Freed Soundtrack, ‘For You’ became her fourth Top 10 hit, as well as her girl-power anthem ‘Girls,'which saw Rita team up with Cardi B, Bebe Rexha & Charli XCX to achieve yet another global success. These hit songs will be featured on her upcoming album Phoenix in November.

Rita says of new album Phoenix, “One of the most liberating feelings for me is performing and creating music. This album is a true labour of love, and it was important for me to do it my way. I’m so appreciative of the love and support from those who worked with me on the record and allowed me to create something I’m really proud of. They gave me the space and freedom to create something from my heart. Both challenging and euphoric at times, I am really proud of and grateful for the journey that the making of Phoenix has taken me on. To my fans, thank you for your patience and thank you always for listening."

Rita has sold a staggering seven million singles, had 12 top ten UK singles (five of which received platinum status and five of which are gold certified) and a number one platinum-selling UK debut album all under her belt. She has cemented herself as one of the most successful UK pop acts of the last decade, and has tied the record for the most Top 10 singles for a solo female artist in the UK. Rita's return to music last year culminated in 1 billion streams and views worldwide and four globe-spanning smash hit singles.

Ashley Tisdale Dicusses New Album

Ashley Tisdale shares details on new 'pop-electro' album: 'The whole album is upbeat'

Ashley Tisdale is sharing new details about her upcoming album, "Symptoms."

The "He Said, She Said" hitmaker recently stopped by AOL to talk about her partnership with Happy Hempies, where she revealed that the album's first single will be out this fall and revealed what fans can expect her first album in nine years to sound like.

"It's definitely pop, but it's more pop-electro versus pop/rock or straight pop," Tisdale told AOL exclusively. "It's really upbeat. The whole album is upbeat. Fun tracks. I know for sure it's the most authentic album I've ever done. Actually, it's the most authentic thing I've ever done in my career. It's very personal."

Tisdale explained that she's struggled with anxiety and depression throughout her life, and she addresses those struggles in the lyrics of her new material.

"I've co-written every song on the album, and I also am so specific on the sound and what the album stands for, which is an upbeat album, but it has a dark undertone of anxiety and depression," she explained. "I think it's something that the world needs right now. It happened so fast and it came together so fast that I think the universe just made it happen."

"I get really vulnerable talking about it, and it's weird to talk about it, but if I could make someone at home feel less alone, then I'm doing my job as an artist," she added. "I've gone through a journey. It's obviously painful and hard, but it's also the most beautiful thing."

The former "High School Musical" star said that she's been in and out of the recording studio for the last four years tinkering around with her sound, and she credited her popular Music Sessions YouTube series for giving her more of a creative outlet as she prepared to jump back into the pop music scene. She also had a transformative experience while shooting the "Symptoms" album artwork.

"I remember doing the photo shoot for the album, and I remember taking the first shot and they had me looking a certain way, and I was like, 'I hate this side of my face,'" Tisdale recalled. "I stopped for a moment and I was like, 'But this album is not supposed to show your beautiful side.' Because I wouldn't say that that is a beautiful side of me -- you know, the anxiety and that stuff. But it's me. After I saw the picture, I was like, 'That picture is really beautiful.' Even though it can be a darker thing, I do think it's a beautiful side, still."

And, once the album is released, fans of Tisdale can "definitely" expect the singer to take her new album on the road.

"I really hope so," Tisdale said of the prospect of going on tour. "They definitely want me to tour. I want to tour. It's going to be such a different experience. [With] everything in the past, I didn't really know who I was as an artist and this I'm so proud of, so I cant wait to do that."

I have a good reason okay...

For not posting. There hasn't been anything to post. It's pretty much quiet at least on the artists I really care about and movies for that matter. I will post something when something happens.
