Judge Orders Thorough Investigation Into Conservatorship

The people responsible for controlling Britney Spears‘ life are now in the crosshairs of court investigators as the judge in her conservatorship case has ordered a thorough investigation of all the players who take part in planning her personal life, financial affairs and medical treatment.

According to documents obtained by The Blast, the judge in Britney’s conservatorship has ordered a probate court investigator to take a hard look at the singer’s case, and wants a court investigator’s report filed before Britney’s next hearing in September.

The move was quietly made days after Britney was ordered to undergo an expert evaluation to determine whether the restraints in her conservatorship should be loosened or modified.

The job of a probate court investigator is to conduct extensive interviews with all the people involved in a conservatorship case, including guardians, conservators, doctors and even law enforcement officials who have had contact with the subject of the conservatorship.

The investigator will also be reviewing medical and financial records, including custody agreements and even contractual obligations … such as her Las Vegas residency.

It has long been debated whether Britney’s team, including her father Jamie Spears, were pushing Britney beyond her limits while signing her up for another round of performances in Sin City. Her manager has maintained that Britney was the one who wanted to keep working, but questions have been raised about her team’s handling of Britney’s fragile mental state while negotiating lucrative business deals.

After the court investigator has prepared their report, the judge will take into consideration the findings when deciding what the court feels is the best move for Britney going forward.

Britney’s mother, Lynne, has been staying with the singer ever since she made a move to join the conservatorship and take a greater role in caring for her daughter, but Britney’s father and other members of her advisors have not been seen with the star. Even more telling about the current situation was Britney arriving to court last week holding her mother’s hand for support.

Our sources within Britney’s team believe the judge in the conservatorship will see they have done everything in their power to help Britney. We’re told the main players in the conservatorship regularly report all the financial and medical updates to the court, and believe the track record of 11 years managing spears’ conservatorship will speak for itself.

The investigation will also be interesting to the #FreeBritney movement, who will either be validated, or proven wrong when the findings are returned to the court.

The Blast: Britney's team under the microscope in today's hearing.

Britney Spears‘ team is going to be under the microscope when they appear before a judge for a hearing on her conservatorship, and even though some have accused them of pushing the star beyond her limits to earn millions, they are adamant Britney was the one who wanted to keep working.

Sources close to the conservatorship tell The Blast, Friday’s court hearing will likely address multiple facets of Spears’ team and medical status, this will include questioning her advisors who manage her business and current treatment regiment

One thing that will come up is her Las Vegas residency deal that was postponed and preceded the swift downhill spiral of her mental health and ended with her back in a treatment facility.

Our sources involved in Spears’ Las Vegas deal tell us at the end of last year, Britney began calling her team and expressing the desire to do another residency. As one source put it, “Britney goes all or nothing when it comes to business, and this was all in.”

We’re told a discussion was had amongst Spears’ advisors, including her father Jamie Spears, about whether she was healthy enough to take up such an enormous responsibility. We’re told, at the time, everyone felt she was absolutely ready.

We’re told Spears’ longtime manager, Larry Rudolph, began negotiations to get her the best deal in Sin City, and ended up locking down a contract that was more lucrative than her initial run for 2017’s “Britney: Piece of Me.”

Over the last few months, several radical Spears’ fan groups have floated the theory that she is forced to work to line the pockets of her team, but we’re told the accusation is completely false.

We’re told Spears’ team felt she was completely “functioning and stable” during the initial days of her “Domination” residency, but unfortunately her stability declined and her medication was switched up and she took a turn for the worse.

Along with the constant change of medication cocktails, we are told the stress of her father’s illness created a “perfect storm” of chaos that landed the singer in a treatment facility.

We’re told the main point from her team is that Spears is extremely wealthy and powerful, and can choose when and how hard she wants to work.

Her team is hoping rumors of her alleged mistreatment are finally put to rest during the conservatorship hearing on Friday. The judge will no doubt ask for an update on all aspects of her condition and work status.

Also, a decision will be made on whether or not Britney’s mother, Lynne Spears, will be able to join the team that helps with Brit.

Our sources say her dad Jamie is fully onboard with Lynne being involved and there is no beef between the two.

We will be in court today with updates, stay tuned.

The Latest In The Britney Drama

Lynne Spears wants to make sure her own legal team is backing her up during a possible fight over Britney Spears‘ conservatorship.

According to documents, obtained by The Blast, Lynne wants her Louisiana lawyer, Gladstone N. Jones III, to be able to represent her during Friday’s scheduled hearing, so she needs approval by the L.A. judge to allow him to participate.

Lynne’s filing makes it clear it’s in Britney’s best interest to allow her to participate in the hearing, and there is not enough time to officially vet her legal counsel before Friday.

As we first reported, Lynne wants to be actively involved in Britney’s conservatorship case, and will be making an appearance to possibly square off with Jamie Spears and the other co-conservators.

At this point, Lynne has not made a move to become an actual co-conservator, but Britney’s mother just came out to Los Angeles this week, along with her sister, Jamie Lynn, and brother, Bryan.

Lynne was seen Tuesday with Bryan near Britney’s home in Thousand Oaks.

IDK How credible pretty any source right now.  I feel like its hitting the fan.

Rolling Stone to Challenge Billboard With New Music Chart

Plans include a daily singles chart and more transparency on ranking calculations.

Rolling Stone is planning to launch its own music charts on Monday (May 13), competing with the Billboard 200 and the Hot 100, as Vanity Fair and Variety point out. The “Rolling Stone Charts” will include a singles chart updated daily, rather than every week. Rolling Stone also plans to incorporate more streaming data and make the ranking calculations more transparent.

Jay Penske, the CEO of RS’s parent company, Penske Media Corp., said in a press release: “What’s imperative and exciting about our new Rolling Stone Charts is that it will present a transparent, granular and real-time quantification to accurately reflect listeners’ evolving interests and give insight into worldwide trends.”

Beyond the main two charts, RS will also launch the Rolling Stone Artist 500—ranking the most-streamed artists—the Rolling Stone Trending 25, and, for new artists, the Rolling Stone Breakthrough 25.

RS will compile the charts using music analytics service Alpha Data (formerly BuzzAngle Music), incorporating digital and physical sales as well as streaming.

Billboard recently became embroiled in controversy when Lil Nas X’s country-trap hit “Old Town Road” was removed from the country chart. A spokesperson was forced to release a statement saying the decision “had absolutely nothing to do with the race of the artist.”
