No Doubt have revealed that they are close to finishing their comeback album.

The band, whose last studio album Rock Steady was released nine years ago, have finished ten tracks for their forthcoming LP, due next year.

In a serious of Twitter posts from the group, guitarist Tom Dumont wrote: "We're rocking on song 10 tonight. It is sounding quite fine. [Tony] and [Gwen] you are killing it!

"Back on song #10 tonight. I love that moment when writing when we look at each other and say: 'wow this one is sounding freaking great'."

"More good songs coming your way song number 10 just needs a bridge and lyrics!!" frontwoman Gwen Stefani added.

Finally, Tony Kanal wrote: "New song sounding gooooooooood!"

The band reformed in 2009 for a reunion tour after a five-year hiatus which saw Stefani release two solo albums.
